Something Blue

This is a piece for an enameling course from 2010.  Inspiration for this ring came from a brass peasant wedding ring my mom has.

She told me priests had that kind of rings so if the couple was too poor to buy their own wedding rings, they could borrow one for the ceremony.

This inspired me to make this big, ceremonial wedding ring. I used etching to make the pits for Champlevé -style enameling.
